Erin Brockovich (2000) Review

Hello Adventurers!

Today I thought that I would talk about a film that my Mum introduced me to.  This film is the one and only ‘Erin Brockovich’.  I remember watching this when I was around ten to twelve years old and it has really stuck with me, and that, to me, says just how great this film really is.

Peter Rabbit (2018) Review

Hello Adventurers!

My Mum actually got this film for me as a surprise the other weekend and I have watched it sporadically.  I look after my Goddaughter a lot and I thought that this would be a great film to watch with her, however she is very much a ‘doing’ child in that she always has to be doing something.  The first time we watched it we got about thirty minutes in before her Mum came to pick her up, and the second time, we got about fifty minutes in.  I finally watched it all the way through on Monday night and loved every second of it.  I love Beatrix Potter and grew up with her stories.  I have actually visited the museum about three – five times over the years as I have relatives in Scotland and every time we visited we would pass the museum.  It is an amazing place and I also have the DVD’s of ‘The Beatrix Potter Collection’ with all the individual stories.  These stories have a very special place in my heart and I love that this film hasn’t tried to do anything too far away from the original stories, but still make it its own story so that it isn’t just another retelling or remake of the old stories. Logan Lucky (2017) Review

Hello Adventurers!

Can I just start off my by saying that I absolutely LOVE this film!  To me it is a really great comedy that is great to put on when you feel like rubbish, or when it is a rainy day outside.  I watched the trailer for this ages ago and was interested by two things: one that it looked brilliant and two to see Daniel Craig do something other than a James Bond film, as they are the only films that I had previously seen him do… other than ‘The Golden Compass’.

The DaVinci Code (2006) Review

Hello Adventurers!

I thought that today I would do one of my all time favourite films, although it took me watching it ten times to understand it!  The Da Vinci Code is an amazing film and I actually watched it every Friday for over a month, along with its sequels.  This film, for some reason, leaves me with a smile on my face, the entire length of it. Black Panther (2018) Review

Hello Adventurers!

This is a film that I have looked forward to seeing for ages and I was not disappointed!  I can see why it was a major hit and cannot wait to see what they do with these characters in the future.  The film is quite a long one at approximately two hours and fifteen minutes, however, it doesn’t feel as long as it is.  It is incredibly funny and left me with a big smile on my face. Winchester (2018) Review

Hello Adventurers!

Just a quick note to say that I don’t actually like horror films, I don’t like getting scared, but I liked the story line for this film and actually first heard about it in one of the only two ways I usually hear about new films, ‘The Graham Norton Show’ or YouTube.  This film I heard about when Helen Mirren, who plays Sarah Winchester in the film, publicised it on ‘The Graham Norton Show’.  I found incredibly interesting to find out that the story is based on truth and that the Winchester mansion, as I will call it, is actually a real place.  I also know that the actors did spend some time filming in the real house so I would like to know how it was for the actors to actually film in the Winchester’s house.  At the end of the film, just before the credits, it is written that this mansion is one of the most haunted houses in North America and  I’d like to know if any of the actors felt presences or saw anything that would suggest that this is true. Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle (2017) Review

Hello Adventurers!

This is a film that I have been really excited to see and was so happy with what I watched!  I actually watched Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart and Jack Black on ‘The Graham Norton Show’ publicising this film and the way that they all act around each other in real life completely translates into the film.  I cannot remember if I knew that the film was being made before or after watching the show, but it either made me really want to watch it or really made me want to watch it even more!

The Greatest Showman (2017) Review

Hello Adventurers!

This is a film that I have been super excited to watch and see since I knew that it existed.  From watching the trailer I thought that it was a film about a man who becomes redundant and then comes up with the idea to create the first ever circus… which is what happens but there are far more roots to this film than I expected.  I spent the first weeks of the soundtrack being released avoiding it with all my might but it has been EVERYWHERE!  I mean in shopping centres, the radio, YouTube, ‘My Mix’ on YouTube… EVERYWHERE!
