Today I am going through my monthly favourites for May to remind me of what’s been so good about the month. Check out all the links to everything I talk about at the end of this blog post. Also, don’t forget to check out my video below!
My favourite YouTube Video that I uploaded this month was my total re-decoration of a cupboard my Uncle gave me when he had no longer had a use for it. I love this video because doing it was something completely different to anything I have done on my channel before. I found I loved deciding what to do and watching the transformation AND because I’m so pleased with the way it turned out. I cannot wait to do loads more videos like it!
My favourite blog post this month was my baked custard blog, because, again, it was completely different to anything I have baked before. It was really interesting to try something different and I want to build on this over the coming months.
Favourite outfit of the month was the one I wore on 13th May 2019. The outfit was white, with blue, my favourite colours, plus my scarf which my parents bought me for my birthday. Most of my clothes are blue so I guess my favourite outfits may always be blue!
I don’t have a favourite book for May because I had just finished a book and I didn’t enjoy it as much as I usually do, so I won’t mention it. I am, however, looking forward to reading the sequel to The Shining, my next read, to find out what happened to Danny. Watch next month to see how I get on.
May’s favourite bake was the troll cake I baked for my nephew’s birthday. It took a long time to decide what to do and how to do it. Trolls is my nephew’s favourite film and I based this cake around the character Princess Poppy. There were so many ways I could have honoured that, but I had loved doing an ombre cake recently and wanted to use the method again, so chose to do that, in pink. The icing was tricky for me because I’m not experienced in decorating, but I was delighted with the end result.
Favourite song for May was ‘First Burn’, that showed up in the ‘my mix’ option on YouTube and is from the YouTube channel for the musical ‘Hamilton’. It was my favourite song for the usual reason that I found myself singing/humming it constantly.
Favourite buys were my nephew’s birthday presents, I got him a Buzz Lightyear moneybox that I plan on putting money in whenever I go to see him, but more specifically the Dumbo toy I got him because it had taken so long to find something in the Dumbo range that I liked or even a toy at all which was really surprising! He has a lovely mural of Dumbo above his bed and I’ve searched and searched for something to go with it. I hope he likes it as much as I do.
Definitely my favourite moment in May was finding out that I have new subscribers. This to me was really really great as it wasn’t just one subscriber, but a few. This is showing me that a lot of the hard work that I am putting into both my YouTube channel and my blog is actually working and that all the hard work is proving that people are liking what I upload to both my YouTube channel and my blog and actually wanting to read and watch the stuff. I’m so pleased you’ve joined us.
I want my channel and this blog to become a big big family and that we all grow together, have adventures together and although it is called an adventure and I don’t really go anywhere (EVER) this is all my adventure through life and I want that to be something that people watch, enjoy and grow with them and, you know, show, that if they have difficult times, they are not alone and that I can (hopefully) take them away from that moment for a little while. I also like of course, that I do gluten free, lactose free and yeast free baking, which, to me is my kind of give back to world and I am hoping that by my learning and creating these recipes and learning what does and doesn’t work I am helping other people, especially those who have such dieting restrictions as I have, do the same without them having to go through the strain and the effort of it. And hopefully by people subscribing I hope this is proof that it’s working!
The favourite DVD was ‘Mary Poppins Returns’. It brought back all my childhood memories of the first in the series. The acting was great and the film fun and, even though nothing can match the originality of seeing the first one, it was done so well.
And that’s it for May. Can’t wait to see what June’s favourites will be!
