Today I am giving my second short, sharp and sweet film review, because, as you know, I just love my films and, simply, because I can! Don’t forget to check out my video below!
So today I am reviewing ‘Mama Mia – Here we go Again’.
This film is the second in the series and, as I had loved the first film and it had made me laugh out loud, I bought the latest with high expectations.
I found the original story a bit far fetched when you analysed that it was built on … having a father from three possible relationships, but that didn’t seem to matter once you got into the story.
The new film is set some five years later, after Meryl Streep has died and … is just about to open the hotel her mother had dreamed of running.
The film did not disappoint and did make me laugh out loud, with my two favourite bits being two of the dads arriving on a boat but (I believe) having been told not to join in the general dancing were giving it their all anyway (link here to see it) and Julie Walters dancing to Angel Eyes. Her comic timing is absolutely brilliant (link here to see it).
The setting and just general ambiance of the film lifted my spirits and, although I didn’t like Meryl Streep having passed on, she does make an appearance as a ghost.
In summary – a laugh-out-loud film which I will be adding to my pile of films to watch when I feel down.
And that is it, as promised, short and sweet!
I hope you enjoyed this quick film review.
