Today I am beginning my countdown to Easter Sunday. Over the coming week I will be writing and uploading a video to my YouTube channel, link here, every day up to Easter Sunday. On Easter Sunday I will then show all of the goodies that I have written and filmed about on an Easter themed table. Over this week I plan to:
- Today tell you about everything that I bought from both Paperchase and Amazon ready for Easter Sunday; (link here for the video)
- Tomorrow I will be giving you a recipe for gluten, lactose and yeast free lemon sugar cookies; (link here for the blog post) (link here for the video)
- Then on Wednesday – I’ll be telling you how to make lactose free mini chocolate Easter Eggs; (link here for the blog post) (link here for the video)
- Thursday’s blog will give you a recipe for making mini nests and using some of Wednesday’s mini chocolate eggs as well; (link here for the blog post) (link here for the video)
- On Friday I’ll be giving you a recipe for gluten, lactose and yeast free hot cross buns;
(link here for the blog post) (link here for the video)

So, today’s blog is my Paperchase and Amazon hauls.
Originally, I was going to order everything from one place, but some of the items had delivery dates that would have been too late, so it became separated into two hauls – which has instilled in my head to plan ahead and order everything in advance next time! I ordered my Paperchase haul on Sunday morning and it all arrived within 24 hours – well done Paperchase! The haul came in minimal packaging – saving our planet – so, again, well done Paperchase!
A lot of everything that I have bought this year came from a company called ‘Ginger Ray’. I was attracted to their products because they just look so good, well made and original. So, let’s-a-go and show you (hahaha):
Firstly, I bought these bunny plates because they are such a novel idea and will look great on the table. I expect them to impress the kids and make it fun. The ears are hidden inside and attached with sticky bits which all came with it.
Next we have some gorgeous napkins that, when tied, look like carrots. These were completely original and will really add a bright colour to the table and, although when I made them they didn’t look quite like the picture, the twine came with them and they still look effective. I really like that instead of string it was twine as I think that it gave the napkins a bit of a rustic feel to them. Also, as a quick side note, I think that these will be a great way to get the children involved as it is something that comes with instructions on how to make them (like origami) which the children can quietly do while you get everything else ready.
And lastly from Paperchase we have an Easter Egg hunt kit. It gives you everything you need, including the bags to collect the eggs in, along with signs and rabbit feet to guide the children. The only thing I am disappointed in are the bags, they don’t have a ‘bottom’ to them, so to speak which means that they have to lie down, whereas, I would have preferred to have them opened up to sit on the table ready for everyone to grab and go. However, as I’m making lactose free Easter eggs on Wednesday so I can join in and actually eat the eggs I find, I’ll settle.
My Amazon haul is, of course, also Easter themed. The haul arrived over several days but I got:
Firstly, some chocolate egg moulds from Lakeland, because if I want to eat the eggs I find on the Easter Egg hunt, I need to make them lactose free – and I do plan to eat them this year … yum, yum, yum! Remember to watch Wednesday’s video for how to make mini lactose free chocolate eggs so you can join in too.
Secondly I had to order foil to wrap the eggs in so they can be hidden in the garden ready for the hunt. They did have other coloured foil, but I loved the gold.
And thirdly, Easter cookie cutters. On Tuesday I will be making gluten, lactose and yeast free lemon sugar cookies and these cutters will make them that much cuter, and mean that they don’t need much decoration for you to figure out what they are.
Next we have these beautiful bunny cups, with these cute bunny pom pom tails, again from Ginger Ray. The kids will love them – though I suspect the adults will too (I did, although I don’t know if I count as an adult!) Look out on Saturday for a video on a refreshing drink to complete your table to fill the cups with.
Then I ordered these adorable bunny lights from Lights 4 Fun (love the look of that company as well!). I thought they would look very effective on the table and lighten up a room in case the weather was dull and the party had to be inside.
The bunting I chose to hang above the table is a simple ‘Happy Hoppy Easter’ design, of course from Ginger Ray. I wasn’t sure whether I would need it as well as all the other items I’ve bought, but if it didn’t go above the table, it could go on my front door as visitors arrive.
And lastly we have this soooo unusual table runner. I, again, wasn’t planning on buying anything like it, but after typing ‘Easter’ into Amazon’s search engine, this showed up and I just had to. It reminds me of Spring and looks gorgeous!
I know these purchases have meant me spending money, but most of this lot will last for years!
Checkout below where you will find links to any of the above in case you wish to order them too.
Let me know what you thought of this post in the comments below. Let me know of what you thought of what I bought. Also, let me know what you have or have bought for your Easter celebrations this year!
Remember be brave, be happy, be kind, be you!
See you next time…
