This weekend I got an offer to go and see my sister on the Sunday so I jumped at the chance and moved things around to film on Saturday and go up to my Dad’s later on. On Friday night Mum and I went through the recipe for the baking video I was going to film, and first thing on Saturday we got the equipment ready and wrote out the shopping list. We had arranged to meet Dad at 10 – 10.30am and thought we could maybe do the shopping before but ran out of time unfortunately.
We met up with Dad at the usual café and caught up with the week’s events. Then Dad went off home and Mum and I went to ASDA. After doing the shopping we had a quick coffee and hot chocolate and went home. I had a shower while Mum walked the dogs and we measured out all the ingredients.
There were several parts to the video and it was tricky deciding how best to do it, but having made a decision I went for it. During this time my Nana came down to say my Cousin and her children were coming over meaning I really had to get a move on!
I made the shortcakes and put the ramekins in the oven to cook but, having left them in for double the baking time, they overflowed all over oven and the whipped cream that had cream cheese in it REFUSED OUTRIGHT to form stiff peaks so I was getting pretty upset. I knew I should have test baked it first but it left me with loads of decorating ingredients with nothing to decorate! And, of course, no filmed baking video for next Wednesday. Then I had a light-bulb moment and decided to load it as a ‘fail’.
I really didn’t want to do that but I was due at my Dad’s and just didn’t have the time to organise anything else in time – and this is, of course. why I am so desperate to get ahead with my work. Although my pride is still seriously telling me not to upload the video, I love it when people like Mark Ferris, link here, and iJustine, link here, upload failed baking videos, so I am going to put pride to one side and kind of not care and laugh at uploading it, which will be a really good thing for me!
So we left it there and left for my Dad’s. We got there on time amazingly, picked him up and drove to the restaurant for dinner. It was really nice because my Mum was able to come along for the first time in ages and, of course, it meant that my Dad could drink.
Later, Mum dropped us back at my Dad’s then set off home.
Dad and I watched ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ as my Dad had never seen it and the second half of ‘Red 2’, another one of both mine and Dad’s favourites until it was time for bed.
The next morning I went to see my sister for a catch up which was great. Back at my Nana’s, my Nana had to go to a rehearsal for her acting group so left Mum some cooking jobs for dinner. After leaving my sister me and Dad then picked Mum up for some lunch, then dropped us back at my Nana’s and we took the dogs for a quick run over the field.
Once we got back, I got ready and filmed a style video, I also made an apple crumble to use up some apples we had over and, finally, prepared another script for a video to go up later in the week about having experimented doing an anti-inflammatory diet for a few weeks to try and stop fairly constant headaches. A busy afternoon I can tell you!
Later I got dinner ready and we took the dogs for a walk, then chilled for the evening before bed.
This weekend I wore a white vest top from Next, a white long sleeved top from Sainsbury’s, a blue overtop from ASDA and blue flare jeans from Next with my pixie boots from Primark.
