This weekend I woke up on Saturday morning with a vicious migraine and, although I was due to go to my Dad’s for the Saturday night, starting with breakfast (which Mum invites herself to as well), I couldn’t lift my head off the pillow. I was also really annoyed as my Dad has recorded all of the latest series of ‘Luther’ for me, which I have been sooo excited to watch with him one after the other. However, I guess that that will just have to wait ANOTHER week, trying to miss all the spoilers in the mean time!
Mum got me some food, a drink and some ibuprofen and a bowl in case I was sick, and closed the curtain, leaving me to rest, walking the dogs and going to breakfast with Dad without me.
After about an hour the tablets began to work and I was feeling much more human. I phoned Mum and ‘suggested’ she might like to bring me back some breakfast. I did say I could go up to my Dad’s but Mum didn’t want me to be too far from her in case I went downhill when the tablets wore off.
Mum came back with some breakfast and took the dogs out again while I ate. It was lovely.
Then I moved down to the ‘studio’ and set up a bed for me to lie on and basically I watched three films over the rest of the day.
My Mum, Uncle and Nana went out to dinner so that my Uncle had a good meal and, again, Mum brought me back a takeaway.
After, we watched some television and went to bed not too late.
It’s a long time since I’ve stayed in my pyjamas all day and as the headache didn’t come back I didn’t have too bad a time after all.
On Sunday I woke up and was really looking forward to seeing my Dad. He’s still got my Mum’s car so he drives down to pick us up for breakfast. We haven’t actually found anywhere local to have breakfast with him anyway and he likes to do his shopping in our local Iceland so he seems content to drive down every week.
He arrived slightly later than usual and we went to our normal café. After, we went to get some of the special flour I use in my baking but were told it’s been stopped! We drove to the only other place we know that sells it and found the same message so I will need to order some online, quickly.
We got our weekly food shop, heavily based on the anti inflammatory diet we want to try this month, and Dad dropped us back home We got our weekly food shop, heavily based on the anti inflammatory diet we want to try this month, and Dad dropped us back home.
My main Christmas presents had arrived over the last week or so and I wanted to video opening both the table-top hob and table-top mini oven but I also had to make scones, something I haven’t made before, so it became a puzzle trying to fit it all in. In the end I filmed opening both my Christmas presents, then filmed making the scones but didn’t have time to run the oven through it’s setting up procedures to cook them before we had to stop for dinner. During dinner we decided that I would finish filming my scones video and make a different flavouring for the oven video (where I wanted to film and show how the oven works) so I cooked them in my Nana’s oven and will cook in my new oven as soon as I can.
I then did what I like to call a first run through of editing my scone video before Wednesday as I was due to go to a meeting with my Cousin on Monday and will lose some time there. After completing that I went to bed, again not too late.
This weekend on Saturday I wore my pyjamas all day but on Sunday I actually got dressed and wore my blue jeans from Next and my ‘Game of Thrones’ sweatshirt from Primark.
