Logan Lucky (2017) Review

Hello Adventurers!

Can I just start off my by saying that I absolutely LOVE this film!  To me it is a really great comedy that is great to put on when you feel like rubbish, or when it is a rainy day outside.  I watched the trailer for this ages ago and was interested by two things: one that it looked brilliant and two to see Daniel Craig do something other than a James Bond film, as they are the only films that I had previously seen him do… other than ‘The Golden Compass’.

If I am completely honest with you, even though I watched the trailer, I didn’t really know what I was walking into with this film.  The trailer looked hilariously funny and I can tell you right now that it did not disappoint me!  This film had me with a smile on my face the whole time and not wanting the film to end.  I will say that this film is randomly brilliant and has loads of little moments that are really funny that you may not even clock on to.  I also think that it is all really clever as well.

I love the characters in this film and it seems like they have no idea what they are doing and that they are not smart enough to achieve this heist, but when they get to explaining how they are going to do it and tell their ‘colleagues’ if you can call them that, how they are going to achieve their goal you begin to realise that they know exactly what they are doing, but I still didn’t think that they could achieve it.  On a little side note, I love the relationship that Channing Tatum’s character, Jimmy Logan, has with his daughter, Sadie Logan (Farrah Mackenzie).  Also, if you hadn’t told me that Seth MacFarlane was in this film, I wouldn’t have noticed him.  As someone who hasn’t seen him in many films and the films I have seen with him in are voice overs, he is completely unrecognizable.

I also think that all of the actors in the film:  Channing Tatum (Jimmy Logan), Adam Driver (Clyde Logan), Daniel Craig’s (Joe Bang),  Farrah Mackenzie (Sadie Logan), Riley Keough (Mellie Logan), Jack Quaid (Fish Bang), Brian Gleeson (Sam Bang), Seth MacFarlane (Max Chilblain) should be very proud of this film as I think that it is amazing.  There are also certain scenes that I love in particular, including; the patrioism the crowd have when the national anthem is playing; when Daniel Craig (Joe Bang) explains how the bomb works; the Logan brother’s, Channing Tatum (Jimmy Logan), Adam Driver ( Clyde Logan) and Daniel Craig’s (Joe Bang) reaction when the bomb doesn’t work the first time; and finally I love it when Channing brings out the diorama to explain the heist plan.

This film is two hours long, which I was not expecting and I love the fact that they continued the film after the heist had taken place.  It also wasn’t until the credits that I realized Channing produced it.  I love the ending to this film and saw that there may be a hint for a sequel, which, if I am right, I am very excited for!
