Black Panther (2018) Review

Hello Adventurers!

This is a film that I have looked forward to seeing for ages and I was not disappointed!  I can see why it was a major hit and cannot wait to see what they do with these characters in the future.  The film is quite a long one at approximately two hours and fifteen minutes, however, it doesn’t feel as long as it is.  It is incredibly funny and left me with a big smile on my face.

There are plenty of characters worthy commenting on but there are one or two in particular that I have fallen in love with.  I love the relationship between T’Challa and Shuri as they have a typical brother and sister relationship and it is really funny to watch.  I love Shuri’s personality and her technological abilities.  I think that Klaue’s character is a fantastic as I think that he is the embodiment of chaos and, again, I find it really funny to watch.

This film reminds me of the Lion King, especially the beginning where T’Chaka is telling a young T’Challa about the story of Wakanda.  The score for this film is amazingly beautiful and is unlike anything I have heard before.  The special effects for this film are well done and look so realistic that I actually forget that the city and surrounding areas aren’t actually real.  I also cannot speak highly enough of the designs and details in both the costumes and makeup designs.  The gadgets and use of technology are really cool and I found the mask designs for the ‘challenge for the throne’ fight scene terrifying which was as it was meant to be.

The fight scenes in this film are epic and even after watching the film a few times, I still don’t know who is going to win each one.  I also think that they are well choreographed.

I wasn’t expecting there to be two villains so that took me a second to get my head around.  I also think that the main villain’s motives are understandable so it is hard not to agree with what he thinks… not his methods though.
